The price you pay at checkout is based on the services, image count, and turnaround you selected. After an editor reviews the files, some images may need a different service or a higher complexity than the quote assumed. Path then sends an extra charge for that difference.
A repeat of an earlier order can also cost more when the new files are harder than the last set.
What usually changes the price
- Multi-clipping path instead of a single clipping path, when separate parts of the image need their own paths
- Camera reflection removal, dust, spot and scratch removal, or another retouching service the quote did not include
- Color variants or a more complex vector conversion
- More images than the order was priced for
- A faster turnaround than the one you paid for
Turnaround itself is priced when you order. See What are your turnaround times, and how do they affect your rates?.
What to do when you get the charge
Path emails the reason and the amount, and names the order. You can:
- Approve it — pay the invoice by card or PayPal, or confirm that Path can take the amount from your Path credits balance
- Keep the original scope — reply and ask to drop the extra service so the job stays at the price you already paid
- Ask which files — reply if you want the charge broken down by image before you decide
On monthly billing, an extra charge is added to your next monthly invoice rather than sent as a separate pay-now invoice.
If a similar order used to cost less
Reply with the earlier order number and the new one. Pricing follows the files in front of the editor, so two orders with the same service names can still differ. Support can explain the difference or remove a service you do not want.
