How to turn off auto top-up on a Path credits subscription

Auto top-up is an extra charge on an active Path credits subscription (Subscribe & save). When your balance falls below a threshold, Path buys your subscribed credit bundle again and adds those credits. The charge uses the card saved on the subscription.

That is separate from the renewal you chose when you subscribed (weekly, monthly, or every 3 months). You can turn auto top-up off and keep the subscription. Scheduled renewals still run, and credits already in your balance stay available.

New subscriptions start with auto top-up off. Select Automatically top up when balance falls below to turn it on. It starts at 25 Path credits until you change the threshold.

Steps

  1. Sign in to your Path account
  2. Open Path credits from the sidebar
  3. On your Path credit subscription card, select the edit (pencil) button
  4. Stay on the bundle marked Active
  5. Clear Automatically top up when balance falls below

The setting saves as soon as you clear the checkbox. You’ll see a confirmation that auto top-up is disabled and that your subscription will still renew on schedule. The subscription card then shows Auto top-up: Disabled.

If you don’t see a pencil button, the same checkbox is on the Active Path credits subscription card on that page.

On a team account, the threshold uses the shared organization balance.

What changes

  • Balance-threshold charges stop — Path no longer buys extra credits when your balance falls below the threshold
  • Scheduled renewals continue — your subscription still renews on its billing frequency and adds credits then
  • Existing Path credits remain — credits already in your balance stay available until you use them

Change the threshold instead

Leave the checkbox selected if you still want credits added when the balance gets low. Select the amount next to Automatically top up when balance falls below, enter a new number of Path credits, and save.

Path then buys your subscribed bundle only when the balance falls below that amount. The scheduled renewal is unchanged.

Auto top-up and the scheduled renewal

Auto top-up runs only while a Path credits subscription is active. The renewal on your billing frequency keeps running for as long as that subscription is active.

To stop the scheduled renewal, cancel the subscription. Cancelling also stops auto top-up.

Turn auto top-up back on

Repeat the steps above and select Automatically top up when balance falls below again. Path adds credits the next time your balance falls below the threshold.
