No. A balance that refills by itself only exists on an active Subscribe & save subscription.
Buy once adds credits a single time. Nothing is charged later when the balance drops, and nothing renews on a weekly or monthly date.
Auto top-up buys your subscribed bundle again when the balance falls below a threshold you set. It runs only while that subscription is active. The subscription’s own renewal (weekly, monthly, or every 3 months) is a separate charge. See How to turn off auto top-up on a Path credits subscription.
You cannot keep automatic refills and cancel the renewal. Cancelling the subscription stops both the renewal and auto top-up. Credits already on the balance stay until you spend them.
“Your Path credits top up in 3 days”
That email is a scheduled subscription renewal. It is not a pay-as-you-go refill.
- You want the renewal: no action
- You want the renewal, but not an extra charge when the balance is low: turn auto top-up off
- You do not want a recurring charge: cancel the subscription and buy credits only when you need them
Buy credits yourself
Open Path credits. Buy once is a single purchase. Subscribe & save is the subscription, with its own billing frequency. Use Top up now only if a subscription is already active. See How do I buy Path credits?.
